Torch of Life

Aslı Arıcı

As a fifteen-year-old young girl , I have always had some dreams that I wanted to make come true . When I was a student in kindergarten for example , I was dreaming of tall buildings with peaceful family relationships . The only thing that I could do to make my dream come true in the kindergarten , was building homes with play dough . After this recognition , I tried to figure out the color , the shape of the room , and it was the only topic that I was in a dilemma about . I wasn ’ t skilled enough to make the roof of a house , and it was my biggest problem to give up .
Back then , It was easy to build your room , and feel part of a home . All I needed were different kinds of colors to make different flowers . However , as people start to grow up and change , so do their needs and pathways .
Now , as a girl who is a high school student , play dough is not enough anymore . Now , I am in need of inspiration . I am in need of different points of views to sense the aim of life . For the past few years , I have started to see the inspiration that life and nature offer us . I do not look forward to seeing new colors because I could learn that . If I mix red and white in right proportion , I can produce the color of pink . If I can see the correct signals , I can reach for the torch of life .
