A Little Thing about Change
Ekim Can Enes ÖZEN
Humans are creatures who like stability . Unfortunately , for them , the only stable thing in the universe is the fact that things change . This is most certainly a source of great distress for many , but it would be a great waste to try and maintain the status quo in response to such distress .
A person cannot move towards a goal unless they move – changealong with time . So if that change is unavoidable , it is much wiser to use the challenges that will surely arise to get to a higher goal .

Even though it would be correct to say that change is constant , the problem in the form of that “ constancy of change ” also applies to “ change ” itself . This puts change in a position where although one has to acknowledge its existence , they can ’ t find an all-encompassing solution to the problems it will indubitably create . This is the source of the aforementioned distress . No sane person likes having problems , after all . And living becomes a challenge when one cannot solve their problems . If one cannot overcome the challenge – that is , reach the soft ground behind the wall of that challenge- the only thing to do is to cope with it – or , in other words , walk on the wall- and move forward .
When change brings such an opportunity , it is a waste not to use it , much less try to stop it . A person ’ s goal is rarely at the end of a straight road . It is much more common that people need to “ climb ” towards that goal at some point . If they use the challenge as a platform to reach higher instead of simply seeing it as a wall to get behind , they can be far quicker in reaching that goal .
