These days , the Internet has an important place in our lives . There are 4.66 billion people in the world with access to the Internet which is 59.5 % of the global population . In a setting with so many people , there are rules that everyone has to follow . There are three most significant rules that a digital citizen must comply with .
First of all , digital citizens must be polite to other people while using the Internet . This rule is called “ Digital Etiquette ”. These people using the Internet , have to have self-management . They have to think twice about what they are going to comment on other people ’ s posts .
Secondly , digital citizens must focus on privacy . While people are using the Internet , they have to be careful about what they share . Moreover , everything people share on the Internet is also important in their future careers . As we know , things shared on the Internet cannot be underestimated , so people should be aware of this .
Last but not least , the Internet is full of knowledge ; however , not everything on the Internet is reliable . Digital citizens must investigate the accuracy of information found on the Internet carefully . For a proper investigation , the person also needs to have practical skills in using technology . These skills are important in the future when a person enters the professional world .
In conclusion , the Internet is used by a great number of people . Therefore , it is suitable for communication . As mentioned above , there are three rules that people need to follow : Digital Etiquette , Digital Security , and Digital Literacy . Digital citizens should know how to use technology correctly when searching for correct information by following these rules .
