To Digitalize , or not to Digitalize ? That is the Question

We all know the benefits of digitalization . We also know that it is harmful . Or we think that we know it . The problem with digitalization is that it has no limits . And it brings out a lot of advantages and disadvantages at the same time .
Personally , I don ’ t consider anything fully good or bad . For instance , digitalization is creating new job opportunities each day . But at the same time , it causes people to lose their jobs . It offers you a lot of choices but takes your willingness to choose .
It makes our lives easier . Yes , that ’ s true , but do we actually need this ‘’ easiness ’’ in our life ? Or does that “ easiness ” really make our lives easier ? Maybe temporarily , but in the long term , I don ’ t think so . Here is my explanation : we people can adapt to any circumstance effortlessly . And easy life ( shopping online , reading online , etc .) reduces the effort a lot . That may not sound like a bad thing , but the truth is not like that . Let me explain more . We are evolved to work for our needs . If we continue to give things effortlessly to ourselves , our body will get used to it , and then it will start to affect our physical and mental health . For example , the most common health problem is being inactive too long and constantly doing it . We have to limit ourselves and realize the consequences of that “ easy ” life .
And then here is my biggest doubt : will digitalization eliminate having a private life and the right to be ourselves ? Is it going to lead us to a dystopia like 1984 from George Orwell ? Maybe our story will be called 2084 … Who knows …
So , I am not against or a supporter of digitalization , this essay is not either . I just wanted to add a perspective . I hope I succeeded .
