Digitalization is a global action . It is certain and is happening so we have to think about its effects . This action has both positive and negative consequences . With a perspective from the bright side , life is getting easier in a material sense . Accessibility to knowledge and communication are getting easier and faster , new job facilities are available etc . These advantages of digitalization are improving our life quality but we have to see the glass as half empty too . So let ’ s talk about the negative effects .
First of all , people are getting lonelier every day . We see digitalization as bringing people together and forming communities but it actually separates us . Anyone can easily edit and manipulate data in digital platforms . People believe in whatever the internet gives them . Fake news and manipulated information can cause chaos in digital and real world communities . People are likely to unite in serious matters . When they fall for fake news and data , it makes people ’ s urge to unite in a meaningless way . As a result , communities become more insensitive and do not believe and ignore nearly every news even the authentic ones .
Digitalization also harms individuals ’ psychology . Yes , digitalization makes communication easier but it will never be the same with communicating in reality . People have to contact each other physically . It is the nature of human beings . Even if some people have lots of friends online , if they are lonely in real life , they are going to feel lonely . Most people can ’ t create bonds with online people .

Both benefits and harms of digitalization are numerous but we mostly ignore those potential harms . If we are planning a proper digital world , we have to consider the harms . In every scenario , we have to plan every step we take .
