Being a Good Internet Citizen

Technology , social media and everything related to these topics are an important part of our lives . Almost all of us use social media and the Internet and find it very important and necessary in order to work , entertain ourselves , communicate with others or do daily things such as grocery shopping . We live in an era where everything requires at least one technological device . That ’ s why almost everyone uses the Internet which leads us to become ‘ digital citizens . ways to keep your accounts protected , not violating anyone ’ s freedom of speech would help you to become a good digital citizen .
To sum up , today , the Internet , digital devices and technology are basic needs that any human should take advantage of . However , we must be careful about how we use these technological devices since they may bring harm or benefit .
But what does ‘ digital citizenship ’ mean ? Is there a term call a ‘ good digital citizenship ’? How do we become good citizens of the Internet ? And what makes someone a bad internet citizen then ?
First of all , let me explain the difference between a good digital citizen and a bad one . A good digital citizen would get his / her work done , chat with his / her friends , respect every different idea on web , do not digitally harass people just because they think differently . A bad digital citizen on the other hand , is a person who is addicted to the Internet and they are often the ones who pick a fight over simple issues if people do not agree with them . These bad digital citizens are also known as cyber bullies and they create a harmful environment on the web , which violates the rights and safety of others .
Knowing how to use the Internet properly , being aware of your rights , separating the right and wrong or fact and lie would help you become a good digital citizen . Keeping your personal information to yourself while being online , learning about the
