Now , we ’ ll take another possible situation that may occur . Imagine a person , casually posting their pictures on their social media site or blog . If they are made fun of because of their physical appearance , voice , talents , hobbies , feelings or similar feature , it can cause insecurity , and what is worse make them feel more insecure than before if they were already insecure about the feature . It is extremely unethical to tell someone about something that they do not have control over . But keep in mind that these do not apply to people who attack the uncontrollable features . A citizen ’ s freedom of speech ends when they interrupt another citizen ’ s freedom and rights .
Let me give another example , but this time , it does not include verbal fights or serious mental or physical harm : it is about false advertising and scamming . Certainly , it isn ’ t easy to earn
money today . If a person wants to get himself -or someone else- a gift , a simple scam can turn his dream into an absolute nightmare , especially if he ’ s unable to , or doesn ’ t have enough budget to get a replacement or refund . It is not hard to see that these situations are hard to be prevented , so citizens should be more careful , warned about the dangers , shop from trustworthy sources and always double-check what they ’ ve done .
Life , as well as digital citizenship , is not full of disasters , though . A good and safe experience can help you get products faster and cheaper , make new friends , share what you like , socialize , access information and many more . It all depends on usage , precautions and decisions you make , so be a good citizen and keep the digital environment safe for other citizens too !
