Negative Effects of Technology

Major and rapid developments in today ’ s technologies affect our lives deeply . We cannot deny that it has many effects that make our lives easier , but its harms are just as much . Even compared to just a few years ago , we see a huge difference between people then and people now . If we examine these differences , we can clearly observe how technology affects people .
The most striking difference in this regard is the blunting of faceto-face communication features . The fact that people have the opportunity to communicate with each other with less effort than social media platforms makes them both lazy and prevents them from using the language effectively . At the same time , due to the fact that people do not reflect the truth about their own lives on social media , diseases such as feeling inadequate , depression , anxiety and even anorexia , especially in adolescents , are much more common . Again , we can endanger the personal data and private lives of both ourselves and others due to some of the posts we unconsciously make on these sites , and we can suffer great material and moral damages due to unconscious shopping over the internet . should be taught . It is our responsibility to raise our young people as good human citizens and to ensure their and other people ’ s safety in every aspect . It is also our duty to protect them and raise their awareness on digital environments in today ’ s conditions . We should start digital citizenship education from primary education in all countries . We need a detailed education from time management to effective communication , from our digital rights to how we can ensure our personal security . If we raise awareness of our children , who are our future , we will not only ensure their safety but also we will ensure that our future technologies are built on safe foundations . We will also ensure that we use this power in the most efficient way by removing the bad ones from many of the features that technology adds to our new generations . Let ’ s not forget , in order to be a good citizen , we must first be a good digital citizen .
One of the biggest problems seen especially in today ’ s children and youth is digital addiction . They harm us in every way , both materially and morally , because of their practicality and the algorithms that will make us dependent on the games or social media platforms for their financial interests . While even our current elders are flooded with the convenience of technology and comfortable life , our young people are starting to normalize this situation .
Our schools are the places where the correct and safe use of technology , which is now an undeniable part of our world ,
