Our world is changing and one of the biggest reasons is technology . It ’ s changing the way we communicate , travel , shop , play , work , and learn things . It has altered our world and daily lives over the years . It has provided us with incredible tools , resources , and unlimited information as well . The question is “ What about people using technology ?”
We have been able to talk about “ digital citizenship ’’ since the digital world became a part of the real world . It is a concept that leads us to understand what all the users should know in order to use technology properly . Currently , a lot of people interact through this all around the world . This communication has led to the formation of a digital society that provides chances in education , job opportunities , and social interaction . Just surfing the web or creating a social media account is enough to turn you into a digital citizen and you should be aware of your responsibilities .
However , can the definition of “ digital citizenship ” be changed as time passes by ?
Thanks to artificial intelligence and augmented reality , we will be able to travel to any universe or create the one that only belongs to us if all goes as it is planned . This is called ‘ Metaverse ’, which is a collaborative online world community augmented with physical reality . Metaverse consists of the words “ beyond ” and
“ the universe ” and I think it will be beyond the internet , a new internet technology that you can share everything . As for the concept of digital citizenship , it will certainly change as well ; there will be your digital self , a character you created , your avatar that can be moved in real-time , which is called metahuman .
Everything has been changing and adaptation has become a need while being respectful to everyone . We can ’ t exactly know what the future holds but , at least , we can predict . As technology thrives this quickly , the things we know are only the tip of the iceberg .
