Furthermore , it has become more and more apparent that the more time is spent online , the more distant you grow from friends , family and the people around you . It can already be observed that many teenagers in particular have become victims of this horrid cycle . Instead of talking face to face , many would much rather text , watch programmes and films on streaming sites or simply stay at home and browse the internet . Even when put in social settings , humans still refrain from talking to the individual in front of them and would rather look at their mobile phones . If this pattern continues and further digital platforms or phone and computer models are released , things could only get worse and being antisocial will potentially become the new normal .
In conclusion , as beneficial as some technological advancements have been in terms of breakthroughs , we cannot deny or disregard the ever-increasing harms . unfortunately , it seems as though the negatives outweigh the positives when observing digitalisation as a whole . Our mental health is just as important as our physical health and it seems as though there is little to no care for the human species ’ psychological wellbeing from both sides - the consumer and the merchant . It is paramount that , as the world becomes more digital , more information is put out to inform and educate everyone on this matter to prevent addiction and manage the amount of time spent on our devices . Until we find balance , digitalisation will continue to eat away at our mental state and ability to apply basic skills .
