As time has progressed so has technology . It has become a part of our daily lives and plays a huge role in healthcare , transportation , education and overall standard of living . It is difficult for many to imagine a time without the Internet , a time without a computer or phone screen in front of us . As a result of what can be described as a ‘ digitalisation era ’, those who grew up with little to no technology around them have grown just as reliant on it as the younger generation . The benefits of such progression are endless but , unfortunately , so are its harms .
To begin with , although many of us have learned to live hand in hand with computers and digital sources , some have developed a somewhat unhealthy reliance on technology which could also be defined as an addiction . A majority of people store a lot of crucial information on their devices such as contacts and personal information , but it has led humans to become lazier when it comes to remembering phone numbers , passwords and addresses . This could result in many people feeling lost and having to go back to square one if their devices aren ’ t accessible in certain situations as well as forgetful due to such a heavy dependency . Another psychological factor affecting humans is addiction . Social media and games with never-ending levels and quests have and will continue to occupy the brain . This could yet again cause forgetfulness alongside aggravated behaviour and take up important space in the human brain .
