Despite a growing number of activists , scientists , and journalists warning about the dangers of digitalization , some of the leading thinkers still see digital technologies as a perfect solution , and essential for getting more knowledge . While the digital revolution has some obvious benefits , it is also creating new threats and risks . For example , digital technologies are starting to spread fake news . Fake news is one of the most difficult challenges to appear in today ’ s world . Firstly it appears online , and then gets spread around quickly by social media . It might be a rumour or it might be fake . Fake news is now one of the most popular news on social media . It has a real impact on our social life . It is like a dangerous virus , and it spreads until everyone knows what is true and what is not . It is a threat to our society and it ’ s getting worse every day . That ’ s only one of the potential harms of digitalization . There ’ s also a serious risk of privacy violations and your important data being stolen . So next time you are on social media or any type of Internet site you should be careful about not exposing your personal information and using the Internet safely .
