In the digitalized world , where we become more reliant on online services , it ’ s possible to contact virtually everyone through the internet . Although the interconnected era has made our lives more convenient , it also caused a spike in online frauds and scams .

Nowadays , it ’ s pretty common to encounter people claiming that they distribute “ free Discord Nitro ” for the negligible cost of account credentials , or shiny new blockchain projects which disappear days after people invest their money in them . I believe that as digital citizens , being aware of such frauds and doing our part to help stop them must be our responsibility . Cybercriminals usually benefit from manipulative social engineering tricks that netizens without proper tech literacy fall for .
Many scams spread from people who believe them , for example , when a user enters their credentials to a Discord Nitro scam , a bot compromises their account and spreads the scam to all the servers and friends of the victim , thus creating an epidemic . That ’ s why we need to inform every internet user about what to do when they suspect that something looks too good , or sometimes too bad , to be true .
If something you saw pops a red flag , look for some of the most common indicators of phishing : Intentional typos in the address bar ( such as 0 instead of o ), default fonts , poor grammar , misspellings , and fake alerts . Feel free to use Google ’ s “ Report Web Forgery ” page which is present in many web browsers .
