OBITUARIES
Geneva Collette
Geneva Maynard Collette, 70,
a lifelong resident of Cleveland,
passed away Saturday, Jan. 2,
2016, at the family residence in
Nashville.
She was born in Mark Tree
Arkansas on Aug. 16, 1945, to
the late Sam and Suzie Nolan
Maynard.
She was married to the late
Alton Ralph Collette Sr. and was
also preceded in death by her
sisters: Dorothy Call, Irene
Gathers and Wanda Wrap; and
her brothers: G.W. Maynard, R.T.
Maynard and Cecil Maynard.
She was a member of Good
Samaritan Baptist Church in
Dalton and worked many years
for Dr. Scholl’s. She enjoyed time
with family, crocheting, flea markets and cooking.
She is survived by her children: Alton Collette and his wife,
Kim, Cecil Collette, Barry Collette
and his fiancé, Samantha Tylor,
Kristie Land and her husband,
Eddie, Jon Collette and his wife,
Mandy; several grandchildren
and stepgrandchildren; brothers:
Sam Maynard Jr. and his wife,
Joy, of Cleveland, Troy Maynard
of Arkansas; her sister, Juanita
Maynard of Florida; and several
nieces, nephews along with other
family members and friends.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at the
Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush
Funeral and Cremation Services
with Pastor Tommy Brown officiating.
The interment will follow in
Mount Carmel Cemetery with
Alton, Cecil, Barry, Jon and
Chandler Collette, Reed Cross
serving as casketbearers. Eddie
Land will serve as honorary casketbearer.
The family will receive friends
this evening from 4 until 6 p.m. at
the funeral home.
