TREAD THE ICONIC TRACK
It ’ s back ! On the Friday evening of The Classic ( 26 August ) it ’ s time to lace-up your trainers and take on the iconic Silverstone Circuit in support of Alzheimer ’ s Research UK .
After a full day of adrenaline-fuelled qualifying , it ’ s your turn to take to the track for our 5k Fun Run – have fun with friends and family and support life-changing dementia research . It will be a run to remember , and every penny donated will go towards funding vital research to better understand , diagnose , treat and reduce the risk of dementia .
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED ?
You ’ ve got until 4.30pm on Friday 26 August to head to the Alzheimer ’ s Research UK stand on the Village Green to make a suggested donation of £ 5 and to sign-up for our Fun Run which will get underway soon after track action has finished for the day ( around 7.15pm ).
The track is a little over 5K long and you will complete almost one full lap of the circuit . You ’ ll start from the National Paddock and then follow the circuit around until you are directed to rejoin the National Paddock by a member of the event team . It ’ s a run and not a walk , so you do need to be able to complete the distance within 50 mins .
WHO CAN TAKE PART ?
The Fun Run is open to anyone aged 10 and over but runners aged 10-15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult while taking part .
