Nigeria has completed 88 capital road projects that were
allocated funding in its 2017 budget, according to its Federal
Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA). The agency stated that
66 other road projects that were also captured in the 2017
budget are presently at 50% completion.
Some of the completed road projects include those in
Adamawa and general maintenance and repairs of Bauchi-
Ningi in Bauchi State, rehabilitation of Biu-WanDali Road
in Borno, Garkida-Gombi highway. Other roads set for
rehabilitation are: Awe-Iwo federal road in Oyo State; Benin-
Abraka Road in Edo; construction of a feeder road from
Iyah-Obelle in Kogi; and rehabilitation of Ribah-Diri-Rijau
Road in Kebbi State.
FERMA’s spokesperson says the agency was making efforts
to ensure that all the roads mapped out for maintenance were
completed as due.
“The assurance is that as long as adequate funds are
