Career path and qualifications
Nicolan Govender is a mechanical engineer with over 10 years ’ experience in the quarrying , mining , and construction sectors . “ I grew up in Chatsworth , Durban ,” he says and adds , “ I had a flair for design and excelled in mathematics and sciences throughout school . The engineering field has always been appealing to me .” Govender studied at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and started his career as an applications engineer , where he gained extensive and invaluable industry experience , leading him to take on his current position as regional manager Africa for global engineering and wet processing company CDE .
