The Government of the Republic of Zambia , to effectively deliver services and development to the people of Zambia , desires to establish the Zambia Cyber City in the Copperbelt Province . The Ministry of Transport and Communications , working with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Copperbelt University , intends to build the Zambia Cyber City on a reserved land area that is envisioned to host the country ’ s technological hub , which will include an ecosystem of various services , facilities , amenities , and infrastructure that will be within 20km from the city of Ndola and 35km from the city of Kitwe , respectively . The Cyber City is public sector led , in which the government is expected to provide the requisite infrastructure and utility systems such as roads , electricity , water , and solid waste and sewerage treatment facilities . The Cyber City is expected to attract world-class ICT firms and immediate beneficiaries of ICT services in the county . The Cyber City is hoped to create a platform for Zambia to achieve economic development by attracting significant domestic and foreign direct investment within the area .

The Ministry of Transport and Communications hereby invites expressions of interest from eligible local and international consulting firms interested in undertaking a feasibility study for the establishment of the Zambia Cyber City in the Copperbelt Province . The broad objectives of the feasibility study will be to gather empirical evidence on the characteristics and determinants of establishing a viable cyber city in the Zambian context ; formulating engineering and architectural designs for different aspects of the project ; developing appropriate models for the Cyber City ; advising on the special purpose vehicle , and managing the Cyber City on a commercial basis .
The Cyber City is hoped to create a platform for Zambia to achieve economic development by attracting significant domestic and foreign direct investment within the area .
