Ardingly Reservoir is a 198-acre reservoir holding 5.2-million litres of water that
feeds the River Ouse located in West Sussex, England. The reservoir was created
in 1978 by damming Shell Brook, a tributary of the River Ouse which flows into the
Ouse about 500m south of the reservoir, before being treated and distributed to
consumers by South East Water Corporate.

decrease water consumption on a large scale, without significant sacrifices in the
day-to-day lives of people. The Western Cape's drought helped create water-savvy
thinking in the province’s residents, radically changing perceptions and behaviour
over a relatively short period.
