County adults who have a child
between the ages of 5 and 18
report that they plan on their child
pursuing education after high
school.
Fifty percent of parents plan on
their child receiving an academic
scholarship to cover the cost of
their child’s education after high
school. In addition, 43 percent
report they will pay for these
educational pursuits using personal
savings, 39 percent report they will
rely on federal loans, and 25
percent report they plan on their
child receiving an athletic
scholarship (see figure).
