Internet could be dangerous for people who do not know to handle it. Nowadays the information is in the scope of anybody. For instance, anyone could obtain your personal information easily by just clicking on a search-box and type your name. Because of these reasons, consider the harmful effects that the Internet could cause for children or even for you.
Nowadays, people who can not have access to the Internet have difficulties when they want to pay their bills or send an email. Since people who do not have access to Internet, they could face problems like fraud. For instance, they could find xploit pages which look like the original pages but they are fake pages and they could bring their personal information easily. As you can see, people who do not know how to handle Internet could face problems like we have described above, if you do not know how to surf on the Internet, you have to ask for someone’s help.
Privacy is one of the most worrying problem that Internet users face. Since in these days people can find data easier than before, their personal information could be at risk. For instance, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn make interaction with everyone easier even if people you are interacting with are unreliable. As you can see, you have to be careful with your personal information and people who can see it, nowadays social networks have privacy settings and you can configure it in order to avoid others to see your personal information especially people who are not in your friend’s list.
Children could run into pedophiles in social networks when they are surfing on Internet. Since children are very young, they are not aware about the people who use this kind of networks too. For instance, they could talk with pedophiles, thieves or even rapists without knowing it or they could share important information about their parents and people that they know, there are cases in which children share their parents information so the thieves could steal them easily. That is why children could know mean people or share sensitive data if they do not have adult supervision while they are in social networks or surfing the Internet.
As we can see, people who do not know how to use the Internet could face problems at the moment of using it without the appropriate accompaniment. There are many ways to avoid problems when we are surfing on the Internet, one instance could be not sharing personal information with anyone unless you know the person you are interacting with and so on. We have to be aware of the risks that we face surfing on the Internet and take steps to prevent it.
