Harriett’s Casbah Cookies T his recipe belonged to my husband’s Grandmother, Harriet. It is the most fabulous cut out cookie recipe I have ever used. The cookies don’t spread apart or bubble on the surface, they bake absolutely perfectly. We use this recipe for all of our decorated cookies at Gateaux Inc. Harriett’s Casbah Cookies Makes approximately 2 Dozen 1/2 cup margarine Directions 1. Bake at 190 degrees celcius for 6-8 minutes. 1 cup sugar 2. Cream margarine, butter, and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. 2 eggs 3. Chill. 1/2 cup butter 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 3 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 51 | Harriett’s Casbah Cookies 4. Roll out 1/3 of dough 1/8” thick on floured surface. Cut cookies. 5. Place on ungreased sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes.
