Chocolate Panel cake Chocolate panels on a cake is a quick and very beautiful way of decorating any cake from a simple cake for tea to a five tier wedding cake. The fantastic thing about decorating cakes this way is that you ca prepare your panels weeks advance and use them when needed. 1 Choose a structure sheet of your choice and cut it into strips approximately 3cm x 10cm. Cover the strip in a chocolate of your choice and then scrape off the excess chocolate with a spatula or back of a knife. 3 Place melted chocolate on the bottom of the panel and stick it directly onto your cake. Step by step 2 Allow the chocolate to set outside of the freezer then add a second layer in a different colour by spooning the chocolate onto your structure sheet. Set the chocolate in the freezer for three minutes, then remove and peel sheet away from the chocolate panel. 4 Pour a cooled chocolate ganache over the centre of the cake. allow to settle and then decorate as desired. 5
