Caught you being a Leader! Age is no barrier when it comes to fundraising for special causes. Over the past year we have been delighted and amazed by the kids of our region and their generous donations to the Health Foundation. Kids have held garage sales, toy drives, bake sales, popcorn sales and lemonade stands. Kids have asked their friends to give cash rather than presents for their birthday and then donated the funds. This past year, the Junior Philanthropists donated over $2,000 in cash and toys to support health care in our region! Young philanthropists were out in full force this past summer and fall raising funds for the Northern Lights Health Foundation. One such young fundraiser was Levi Coyston-Lagasse who set up a lemonade and hot chocolate stand at the Abasand playground. Levi set this goal at school last year and he kept the goal page on his refrigerator all summer until he finally had the chance to set up his stand. Levi had his brother and friends to keep him company throughout the day. Levi was recognized by his school, Ecole Dickensfield for being a leader. He was awarded the Caught Being a Leader Award and the Health Foundation Executive Director was on hand to give out his award! Levi raised $133.50! Learning to give of your time, your talent, and your funds is important for children and youth. Showing kids that you can actually have a lot of fun helping others is a big part of socializing and helps to build the kind of communities we all want. We offer a very big thank you to our 2018 Junior Philanthropists – Levi, Charlotte, Adalyn, Kylan, Milan, Sophia, Brody, Georgia and Kaiden for thinking of others and sharing generously to support the Health Foundation!
