By CLARA HOWELL, THE VILLAGER
Q: What’s your take on the
development and growth in the
French Prairie and the Aurora
Airport area?
ANNE SHEVLIN: It is important for
Charbonneau to establish a strong
community voice with a wide cross-
section of parties involved in
governmental
affairs at the city,
county, Metro and
state levels. We
want to be good
neighbors with
developers in the French Prairie and
airport area so that varied opinions
can be taken into consideration. Air
and ground transportation patterns
that negatively impact Charbonneau
residents must be taken into
consideration.
whatever happens at the airport and
in the French Prairie area should be
done with total
transparency, in
accordance with
Oregon’s land use
goals and laws, and
with the involvement
of local residents. A
great deal of consideration must be
given to the need for basic
infrastructure such as roads and to
governance (i.e., which governmental
entity will be ultimately responsible
for what happens in these areas).
STEVE SWITZER:
Growth is inevitable.
Managing that growth
should always be the
top priority of our
elected officials. If we
try and restrict it, we

Charbonneau Community
Forum returns June 12
The Charbonneau
Community Forum
returns for its seventh
season June 12, 2019.
Our discussions will
continue to be non-
political and non-
partisan. Our goal is to provide
information and views that impact the
lives of our residents and their families.
The topics will include traffic
congestion, airport expansion and noise,
Real Estate values, land use planning,
growth of Wilsonville and more.
In addition, as you have read or
heard, a Charbonneau Community Task
Force was formed to make all residents
aware of the Village Expansion Project
and to give all residents a chance to
comment and give input to the CCC
Board. As changes may lead to further
increases in our dues, this is the time to
have your say in the future of
Charbonneau’s Village Center.
Our panel of speakers will include:
■ City of Wilsonville, Mayor Tim
Knapp
■ Clackamas County Commission
Chair, Jim Bernard
■ Clackamas County Commissioner,
Ken Humbertson
■ Charbonneau Golf Club
Representative, TBD
■ Real Estate Consultant, Lynda Huber
Marshall , Oregon Equity Real Estate
■ CCC General Manager, Jim
Meierotto
Social time starts at 6 p.m. in the
Country Club dining room. Join us for a
glass of wine, beverages and snacks.
Speaker presentations start at 6:30 p.m.
There will be a question and answer
period starting at 8:30 p.m. and we plan
to end the forum at 9 p.m.
We have many new homeowners in
Charbonneau and we extend a personal
invitation to the forum to meet your
neighbors and learn more about your
community. For more information or to
reserve a table, please contact Len
Zucker at 503-694-5843. ■

Help Shape the Future of Charbonneau
An engagement process has kicked off to
develop a vision for how the Charbonneau
Clubhouse and adjacent facilities can meet the
current and future needs of the community.
The purchase of the vacant restaurant building
located in the Village Center could provide
additional space to expand Clubhouse
services, events and amenities. But there
are tradeoffs to consider.
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
What do you like about the clubhouse?
What would you like to see change? What
do you want the Charbonneau Country
Club Board to know before making plans
for the future? Find out more about the
project and share your thoughts at an
upcoming event.
