CCC Activities By KIM HOSFORD Red Cross Blood Drive SMART 101 Join RideWise, your local travel training program, for a two-class session to learn more about using public transit in Wilsonville and beyond. The first class will be held at the Country Club on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. We will cover information on fares, trip planning, accessibility and more. The second class will begin at the Country Club on Tuesday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m. Then, we will put our knowledge to the test and head out to ride SMART to a mutually agreed upon location within Wilsonville. Charbonneau directory changes Spring is here and it is time for the CCC office staff to begin updating the Charbonneau Resident’s Directory. This booklet is not just a resident directory; it also contains helpful information about Charbonneau businesses, homeowner associations, architectural control policies and much more. For those who are already listed, please check to make sure the information in the blue 2018 directory is current. The directory information includes resident phone numbers and it is possible that this information may have changed. The deadline for making changes is May 15, which is the date of the CCC annual meeting. If you have recently moved to Charbonneau, be sure to contact the CCC office staff at 503-694-2300 or [email protected] and let them know how you would like to be listed in the directory. The directory will be printed and delivered by the post office exclusively to Charbonneau addresses sometime in June. Attendees will enjoy a lovely walk through a Charbonneau neighborhood followed by a free BBQ lunch and entertainment at SpringRidge Court. Please pre-register so we know how many guests we will be serving. This event begins and ends at SpringRidge Court. Several gift baskets are donated by local businesses and will be raffled off after lunch. Last year, this event raised $7,142 for the Alzheimer’s Association. If you would like to donate a basket, volunteer, or need more information, please contact the Country Club or SpringRidge Court (registration forms are available at both locations). This event is a wonderful way to show your support for friends and family who have been diagnosed or are caregivers of someone with Alzheimer’s. Kitchen at Middleground Farms cooking class, Simple Seasonal Suppers: Late Spring The promise of longer days, the dreams of warm sunshine, the ever- growing green grass...Spring is upon us in the Northwest so let’s celebrate! You will learn basic cooking techniques including roasting vegetables, mixing and rolling fresh pasta, whisking a flavorful vinaigrette, and poaching eggs to perfection! Class culminates in a delicious meal served family style around our beautiful barn wood tables. On the menu...arugula and asparagus salad with poached egg, fresh fettuccine with spring peas and lemon, seared scallops with caper pesto, and rhubarb ricotta fritters with honey lavender gelato. This class happens Thursday, May 23, 6 -9 p.m. at the Kitchen at Middleground Farms, 4651 S.W. Homesteader Road, in Wilsonville. Please register for this class in the CCC office. Free document shredding and drug disposal day Windermere Real Estate and Charbonneau Country Club are teaming up to help you with some spring cleaning. A shredding truck will be stationed behind the Windermere building for FREE onsite shredding of documents, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, contact the CCC office or Windermere. Canned food donations accepted to support our local food bank. In addition, the CCC Disaster Preparedness Committee has arranged a drug disposal event. Charbonneau Paint and Pour We had such fun at our last paint and pour we decided to do it again. Come to the Charbonneau Clubhouse Friday, June 7, for a relaxing afternoon and explore your creativity. Invite a friend or two, bring your beverage of choice and enjoy a watercolor class put on by instructor and artist Elaine Luneke. Beginners and advanced painters are welcome. Meet in the Fireplace Room at 3 p.m. for this two-hour class where you will work on a watercolor project. Community dance and BBQ We are planning a large community event to happen Friday, July 12. This event will celebrate our Charbonneau community and will feature live music from One Brick Shy. Dalton’s NW Catering will once again be serving up a mouthwatering supper, which will include BBQ chicken, strawberry spinach salad, red potato salad, baked beans, and dessert. You are welcome to bring your own beverage of choice, however, iced tea and lemonade will be offered. Tickets for this event are $10 and will be sold in the CCC office beginning Wednesday, June 5, at 9 a.m. Here are guidelines for ticket purchase: ■ Tickets are for Charbonneau residents only. ■ You may purchase tickets for other Charbonneau residents (up to 8). ■ You must give the names of the residents using the tickets you purchase. ■ Hold on to your tickets, each person will need a ticket to gain admission to the event. ■ We are not reserving tables for this event. If you wish to reserve seats, you can do so at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Bring your ticket, write your name on the back of it and set it on the table in front of the seat of your choice. ■ Only 250 tickets are available We hope to see you there (dancing shoes optional)! ■
