14 THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER Donations being accepted for Pink Ball August 2019 By DANA RICHMOND Tuesday, Sept. 10, is the date for the 2019 Charbon- neau Pink Ball. Once again, we have an opportunity to play a major part in helping to raise funds for the Knight Cancer Institute at OHSU. Last year, wine and beer sales alone raised almost $10,000 toward the final Pink Ball donation of over $47,000! Wine and beer donations Please make all donations by Sept. 1. More donations mean more dol- lars toward cancer research and we need your help. So, as we ask every year, we would like you to donate two bottles of good wine (that you would drink). Even easier, you can do- nate $15 (or more) in a check to Ron Leeper who will purchase wine directly from the distribu- tor at wholesale prices. More expensive wine has been an ex- tremely successful item at our silent and oral auction. If you have a “special” bottle of wine, or better yet, a case, please call Mary Fieweger at 503-519-4388. You have no doubt heard by now that the 2019 Oregon Legislature has adjourned and that many bills HARLAND were passed late in the session. And while we’re at it, let’s thank Sen. Alan Olsen who submitted the successful bill and Rep. Courtney Neron, who amended it to our advantage. Both played key roles in our suc- cess.
