THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER 7 April 2019 Charbonneau Golf Club, Inc. Solo Sisters Charbonneau’s Solo Sisters are enjoying the winter! By DEANNA MORGAN Who doesn't love happy hour? The Solo Sisters sure do and so far in 2019 we have been to happy hour at Abella's Italian Kitchen, McMenamins and Juan Colorado's Mexican Restaurant. Each second Wednesday of the month, we gather at a different local restaurant where we greet new members, enjoy conversations over food and beverages, and make new friends. Another fun thing we have enjoyed this year is a bowling outing where we had as many woman bowling as we had spectators. We are a very supportive community of women! At our Solo Sister gatherings, the goal is to have fun and make plans with each other outside of our monthly meetings. One person is trying to form a book club, while another person is letting members know about volunteer opportunities in the community. Are you looking for someone to go to a movie with? Look no further than Solo Sisters. Do By JOE BROUILLETTE CHARBONNEAU GOLF CLUB, INC. We look forward to welcoming you in to our group. ■ As President of the Golf Club, I’m often asked in emails, or directly by community members I see around the course, questions regarding the future of the golf course. So, I have decided to use my space in this monthly column to bring Reality to the Rumors. Today I will address two common questions. Q: What happens May 31, 2020? A: That is the date that the obligation to operate a golf course in the open space expires. That’s all. No action is required. Q: Is the golf course closing totally or partially? A: There are no plans or intentions to close the golf course. The golf course is the lowest cost option to manage the open space, consistent with community values. The golf course is believed to be the most valuable community asset and contributes significantly to the premium value of all property in Charbonneau. Watch this column for further comments that bring Rumor to Reality. And finally, the individual Boards of CCC and CGCI have both passed a non-binding resolution that allows a closer look at what advantages may accrue with a formal agreement to combine these operations.
