As our construction intensifies,
spring is in the air . . . my hope is

yours. As for us, June (and the end
of construction noise) can't come
soon enough!
Free Tax Help (at the Li-
brary): Saturdays, April 7 and
14 from 10 am to 3 pm at the
Wilsonville Library. A retired,
Certified Public Accountant vol-
unteer (plus a sidekick) will be at
the Library ready to answer your
questions and/or help you fill out
your tax forms. Please bring all
of your necessary documentation
and your 2017 tax records. For
more information, contact the
Reference Desk at 503-682-2744.
English as a Second Lan-
guage (ESL) Class (at Parks
& Rec): Saturdays, April 7, 14,
21 and 28 at 11 am at the Parks
& Recreation Administration
Building. Free class in reading
and writing English as a Second
Language (ESL). Classes will
be taught by Jose Solis, a native
Spanish speaker who is fluent in
English. Native speakers of all
languages and all levels of Eng-
lish competency are welcome to
join the class and practice vocab-
ulary, reading, writing and speak-
ing.
Book Club (at the Community
Center): Thursday, April 12 at
6 pm at the Community Center
(Classrooms 2 & 3). This month,
we’re reading Last Bus to Wis-
dom by Ivan Doig. The Book
Club meets monthly for informal
discussion. Join fellow readers
for lively and thought-provok-
ing conversation about excellent
books. Books to be discussed are
available for check out - just ask
at the Circulation Desk.

for a round-table discussion of

great Western classic books. This
month, we’re reading William
Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
History Pub (at Wilsonville
McMenamins Old Church):
Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30 pm at
the Wilsonville McMenamins'
Old Church. The Wilsonville
Public Library Foundation, the
Wilsonville/Boones Ferry His-
torical Society and McMenamins
have teamed up to present month-
ly programs focusing on Oregon's
rich history.
This month, we’ll be present-
ing “About Wine and Whiskey in
the Wild West” by Ken and Kris
Bilderback. This program trac-
es the pivotal role that the battle
over alcohol has played in Or-
egon’s history and is replete with
remarkable stories from Oregon’s
pioneer history.
