April 2018
CCC Report
Charbonneau
Country Club
President
Tony Holt
The 2018 Oregon legislative
short session ended on March 3.
We actively participated in testi-
fying to committees hearing two
bills during those deliberations -
one concerned the Aurora Airport
and the other a proposed amend-
ment to a bill which recommend-
ed changing the zoning of the Red
Barn property at the I-5 282B
Exit. In both cases, we got excel-
lent support from Charbonneau
residents. More detail on these
efforts is provided in this issue on
page 21.
You may have heard that Su-
sie Stevens, our executive direc-
tor, has decided to retire later this
year after completing more than
26 years of service with Charbon-
neau Country Club (CCC). It will
be a great loss to this communi-
ty. However, after years of hard
work and many hours of overtime
spent supporting all of us, Susie
deserves our very best wishes for
a very happy retirement and more
time to have fun. We are about to
start the difficult task of trying to
find her replacement.
Last, but by no means least,
the CCC Annual Meeting is set
for Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30
pm at the Clubhouse. You will
recall that we obtained resident
approval last year to change our
bylaws to give us the flexibility to
have the meeting in May so that
more snowbirds will now be able
to attend. A meeting announce-
ment and ballot for Board Direc-
tor will be in the mail soon. The
CCC Nominating Committee is
recommending three excellent
candidates be elected to serve
our community. Please attend on
May 16. This will be your oppor-
tunity to hear about everything
going on at the Country Club and
to be able to ask questions of each
director.
Marina Boat Mooring Starts April 1
Regarding our process of in-
vestigating the possible purchase
of the Restaurant building, as of
March 8, five different types of
inspections had been completed;
and we were awaiting the reports.
Two more inspections were pend-
ing and should have been com-
pleted by the time you read this.
As always, we will keep you up-
dated on progress.
