Interviews

Q: How does it feel to be president of Cell Land?

A: It feels great as I am very proud to govern this wonderful cell. There are so many diverse parts and it creates an ideal pluralistic society. It is however very difficult to govern.

Q: How is it very difficult?

A: It is very difficult as I have these certain “functions” to provide to the cell. I have to control all of the cells activities. Essentially, I literally decide everything that goes on in the cell and what will happen on a daily basis. For example, if there is a outbreak of bacteria attempting to penetrate the cell membrane, I have to be the one to give the word that defense is allowed. This however, isn’t my only function. I also have to combine the chromosomes of other cells, which results in the reproduction and growth of these cells. This last one is very important as without reproduction the cell eventually dies and if there is no reproduction that is the end.

Q: How do you accomplish these functions?

A: I have these structures that help me. These structures are chromosomes, nucleus membranes, and nucleolus. The chromosomes help me me as without them I would not be able to reproduce the cell and would fail a function of mine. Nucleus membranes are important, as they are like my bodyguard. They protect me from bacteria and others as if I died the cell would literally be dead as no one or anything would be doing anything. The final one is also very important as it helps me produce ribosomes. By producing ribosomes, I help certain things in the cell regenerate and strengthen once again.

Q: It seems like you have a very challenging job, how do you cope with this at home?

A: Well when I come home, I like to play this game very popular in a far off land filled with cells called Earth. It is called Fantasy Football. My favourite player is by far Robert Griffin the 3rd but I also like Michael Vick as he is a very good player. But probably the best quarterback in my opinion is Mark Sanchez. If you look at their so called stats you will agree. But going back to your question, I do this as it helps me relax and put my mind to rest after the stressful day and regenerate for the next day.

Q: Thank you very much. It was a pleasure talking to you today.

A: No problem. My pleasure.
