Fall 2019 alumni (from left to right) Jillian Arnold, Juliet Creel, Willa Sinclair, Cedar Bertelsen, Sophie Martin, Mariella Ferris, Viv Rae, Josh Fairmont, Maya Lutz, Jackson Seeley and Theo Tannahill went on a backpacking trip together and then made a quick visit to campus this July.

Sara Kate Durkee (Fall 2017) and Frances Barham (Fall 2018) share both camp and Alzar School experiences and are embarking on a whole new adventure as freshman roommates at Washington and Lee University this fall.

On August 9th, over 30 Alzar School alumni and staff spanning years of programs met and reunited over Zoom in our first All Alumni Reunion. Memories were revisited and experiences shared amongst this awesome group of alumni.

Izzy Klein (Spring 2019) started a small business, Masks by Izzy, making cloth masks and donating a portion of the proceeds to good causes. She even has a line of limited edition Alzar School masks, the proceeds of which go to funding the new Selway River Yurt.

Founding teacher, Dan Thurber, has taken outdoor adventure to new heights packrafting, backpacking and mountain biking all across the western United States. Check out his instagram feed @extraintermediate.

Claudia Craig (Spring 2019) was the recipient of the National Merit Scholarship and is headed to Davidson College this fall. This summer she volunteered on a permaculture farm in Montana, happily living outdoors.
