Amidst college campus visits and family time, alumni on Spring Break took to traveling and exploring. Darby Huye (Spring 2014) went hiking through the Grand Canyon. Liam Murphy (Spring 2016) spent some time climbing in Zion National Park. Jake Wilson, also a spring 2016 alumni, hit the slopes in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. Deza'ray Lowery (Spring 2013) managed to make it to Hawaii for some beach time and Catri Gilmour (Spring 2016) vacationed in Spain. Challis Cates (WILD 2008, Plus 2010, Rivers of Chile 2011) went diving off the Chinese coast and Harmony Coleman (Spring 2013) played with elephants in Thailand. In a small world moment Sam Nelson (FLOW 2011) ran into Austin Shotwell (Spring 2015) when Austin was touring colleges in Kentucky. Sam also kayaked the Green River in North Carolina. Additionally, we were lucky to have Jesus Torrealba (Spring 2015) join the Alzar School this semester down in Patagonia as a nanny for baby Oscar.

Alumni have also taken the chance to reconnect with one another. Catri met up with fellow classmate Josephine Winborne (Spring 2016) in Atlanta. Spring 2016 student, Marisa Morales surprised her classmate Addie Kilmek for a long weekend in Cleveland. Addie also made it all the way to D.C. to take part in the People’s Climate March. Many of the Spring 2016 girls got together in Beaver Creek for a skiing weekend. Fall 2016 students, Margot Lapeyre and Shelby Vaughan met up in New Orleans to enjoy some Mardi Gras festivities. Founding teacher, Ellie Moore, also found the time to visit Elena Press (Fall 2013) and Isaac Goldstein (Spring 2014) at Sanford where they are both currently studying.

It is with the utmost excitement that we announce Alzar School Admissions and Communications Associate, FLOW 2010 alumni and Fall 2015 Teaching Fellow, Jami Black’s engagement. Congratulations Jami!
