Alzar School Family Happenings

finished his first year at Wake Forest University with his adorable yellow lab. Charlotte Duncan (Fall 2012) has just finished her senior thesis portfolio at Maryland Institute College of Art. Get a glimps of her portfolio in the video above. Katherine Sharp (Rivers of Chile 2008, Fall 2012) is graduating from the University of the South and will be spending her summer amongst the marigolds of her family's farm. Congratulations to many of our Semester 1 and Semester 2 students who are graduating from college this May.

Alzar School alumni continue to reflect upon their time spent in Idaho and Chile after they have returned home. Hanson Stuckey (Fall 2016) was featured in the St. Paul’s School’s Paper Wolf. Read about Hanson’s experience here. Jake Vrolijk (Fall 2016) was also highlighted in the South Carolina publication The Brunswick News. In both articles, Hanson and Jake reflect upon the power of their semester at the Alzar School. John Scott (FLOW 2011) found his FLOW 2011 booklet when moving into his newly bought home in North Carolina. Derik Ryan (Chilean Expedition 2007) is a smokejumper based out of Missoula, Montana and spends his summers protecting the wilderness areas that the Alzar School explores. On April 22nd, we saw a plethora of alumni celebrate Earth Day together reflecting upon some of the amazing environments students explore during their time with the Alzar School.

Strong academics are a common denominator for many Alzar School alumni. Chilean alumni, Francisca Tomicic (Spring 2013) is enjoying the city life in Santiago where she is finishing her junior year at Universidad Católica. Kaylee Arnold (Fall 2013) has been accepted as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Membership in the Washington, D.C., organization gives students access to career services, scholarships, travel and service projects both on campus and in the community. Kaylee is currently studying sustainable foods and bio-energy systems at Montana State University. Ben Barns (Fall 2013) just finished his first year at Wake Forest University with his adorable yellow lab.
