Stars of Salado October 23, 2010 Bill and Linda Roe and Rick and Denise Thomssen hosted a wonderful evening of music and dancing at The Chapel at Caliber Oak in Salado, Texas. Almost $35,000 was raised to purchase pediatric transilluminators, devices that help caregivers place intravenous lines with minimal discomfort to young patients. The Salado Trio and the Capps & Middleton Duo entertained guests with lively performances, putting everyone in the mood to purchase the beautifully wrapped gift boxes that represented an additional opportunity to purchase equipment for the new children’s hospital. ■ Stars of Salado hosts Bill and Linda Roe, and Rick and Denise Thomssen. Steak House in Temple, Texas, to celebrate the brave men and women of the United States armed forces. Special appearances by some of the soldiers and generals from Fort Hood, the military base in Killeen, Texas, highlighted the evening, while keeping in mind the brave children and families who will benefit from the expertise of the new Children’s Hospital at Scott & White. The event raised approximately $75,000 to purchase a second Olympic Cool Cap™, an innovative medical device that protects the brain of a premature or other at-risk newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit. ■
