MEET CHILDREN ’ S HOSPITAL AT SCOTT & WHITE CEO

DR . JOHN BOYD

Dr . John Boyd took the helm of the new Children ’ s Hospital at Scott & White after the hospital system merged with King ’ s Daughters Hospital in 2009 . Plans were made to convert the 35-year-old hospital building into the dedicated Children ’ s Hospital at Scott & White . Dr . Boyd then began the transition from a hospital-within-a-hospital to a dedicated children ’ s hospital . “ To be part of a leadership team to accomplish that was very exciting to me ,” Dr . Boyd says . “ It ’ s my dream job , really .”
Dr . Boyd is a pediatrician and an accomplished administrator . He most recently served as chief medical officer of St . Joseph ’ s Hospital , a 749-bed teaching hospital in Phoenix , Arizona .
