> A New Era continued The Texas Bioscience Institute Leading researchers are supported in the laboratory by technicians and scientists. The Texas Bioscience Institute, located at the Scott & White West Campus complex in Temple, TX, trains students in biotechnology fields, giving them not only a foundation for studies in biosciences, medicine, engineering and mathematics but also opportunities for real-world applications. State-of-the-art labs and instruction from active, respected medical researchers create an environment for interdisciplinary collaboration and problem solving. Scott & White Healthcare and the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine have joined forces with several partners, including the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System; the City of Temple; local school districts; and colleges, universities and other educational entities, to create this institution, which prepares the workforce to fill local needs in biotechnical staffing. The employment outlook is bright for future graduates of the Texas Bioscience Institute.
