Although many of our McLane
Children’s Hospital patients are small,
they have incredible perseverance and
strength. Hearing their stories is what
inspired Jeremy to use his gifts and
talents to help meet the many needs
of McLane Children’s Hospital, which is currently operating
at, or close to, maximum capacity. Jeremy works with donors
who want to help children find the right need to fit their
interests. “If one life has been saved because of the work we do
and the generosity of our donors, then that’s what I’m most
proud of.”
Rachel spent a lot of her childhood
in the hospital. Now, she is dedicated
to helping Central Texas children in
similar situations by coordinating
the McLane Children’s Hospital
Grandparents’ Club or helping
community members turn their ideas into fundraisers
benefitting McLane Children’s. Rachel sees the impact
of these gifts every day when she visits the hospital. “My
proudest moment was when a little girl saw my badge, ran
up to me, gave me a hug and said, ‘Mommy, look! It’s one
of the helpers!’ It is amazing how someone so small can make
you feel so big.”
