As many patients know, Baylor Scott
& White - Central Texas implemented
a new electronic medical records
program in 2013, giving convenient
options for making appointments,
requesting medication refills, and
communicating with physicians and
other providers. The rollout of the
system is now finished across all
Baylor Scott & White - Central Texas
facilities and now includes Epic 2014,
an updated version of the software
program, making patients’ visits even
more efficient and the tasks they want
to complete on the online portal easier.
“Until 2013, providers at Scott &
White were working with a patchwork
of multiple systems,” says Zach Beggs,
digital marketing manager at Baylor
Scott & White, who helped design and
promote MyChart, the patient portal
side of the system. As a result, a clinician
