Just one example is the system’s computer network. Any Scott & White physician— whether they’re in College Station, Temple, Waco or ultimately in the new Lake of the Hills facility (in Marble Falls) can pull up a patient’s chart for a complete medical history. In terms of patient care, this is very significant. Not only does this capability save time for the patient and the physician, this continuity of information helps to deliver optimum care.” Careful Stewardship and Vision Mr. Fisher and other board members continue to guide the Scott & White healthcare system on a prudent path of expansion as it grows to serve the people of Central Texas and beyond. “This is important because it enables Scott & White to continue the best care for as many people as possible.” ■ — Wayne Fisher Winter 09 THE CATALYST 33
