in my decision to go back to College Station and align myself
with Scott & White.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of Scott & White
because of the trust they have placed in me over the years,
affording me leadership opportunities far greater than I
could have imagined. My tenure at Scott & White has led
me from a practicing OB/GYN physician to the OB/GYN
division director, with a role as associate medical director of
the Scott & White Health Plan during its rapid growth in
the College Station area.
The values of Scott & White have kept me anchored to
the institution throughout my career. I believe deeply in the
group practice model of care that we employ because one
of the best ways we can serve patients is by offering them
more coordinated care. Scott & White is able to provide this
because all team members collaborate, communicate, and
move in the same direction for the benefit of the patient.
Q: What does the future hold for our
patients’ care?
A: I am excited about our future! The merger with Baylor
Health Care System positions our organization to thrive
in this tumultuous time of change. Our integrated model
is viewed as a potential future model of care, and we must
grow this model and continually innovate to provide that
care at a lower cost. It is a great honor to serve on the
newly founded Baylor Scott & White Health Board
of Trustees, to help direct the integration of these two
legacy organizations.
However, no matter what leadership role I step into, I am
simply a clinician leader. At the end of the day, I am trying
to do all that I can to ensure the excellence of the name
and reputation of Baylor Scott & White Health by serving
