“When first meeting him, I was
totally blown away. He makes you feel
so comfortable,” says patient Kathie
Dugan of Marble Falls, Texas. After her
first appointment with Dr. Ransdell,
Ms. Dugan, a manager at a high-volume

tourist restaurant, was ready to sing his
praises. “I went back and I was telling all
of the customers about him. That’s how
confident I felt about him,” she says.
Dr. Ransdell had diagnosed a basal cell
carcinoma on her back and guided her
through a lengthy recovery period.
As a dermatologist, Dr. Ransdell
sees a broad range of patients, from
newborns to centenarians, from acne to
skin cancer. He enjoys the diversity that
comes with being a dermatologist. “It’s
varied. You might have a person with
a rash in one room, the next patient
has a blistering disorder, the next
patient has bad psoriasis, and the
next person has cancer. Every day’s
different,” says Dr. Ransdell.
Tough on cancer
Dr. Ransdell’s specialty, however, is
primarily skin cancer. This past August,
