New Bone and Joint Institute continued Foot and Ankle Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship-trained physicians practicing highly specialized care are assembled in eight clusters: Strains and sprains, bone spurs and bunions, sports-related injuries, neuropathies, and more are treated by specialists dedicated to preserving and protecting the function of the foot and ankle. Reconstructive surgery, such as ankle replacement, is available as well. Hand and Wrist Joint Replacement For disease and injury from the fingertips to the elbow, including elbow replacement surgery, orthopaedic and plastic surgeons, rehabilitation therapists, and other hand and wrist specialists offer complete expertise in osteoarthritis, compressed nerves, and repetitive-motion injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Bone, cartilage, and soft-tissue cancers are treated in both adults and children, with survival and quality of care the primary focus. Collaborative care includes sarcoma specialists, and those in radiation oncology, pain management, allied health, and other support services for each patient to receive unparalleled care. More than 1,000 joint replacements are performed each year at Scott & White for patients with irreparable function and chronic pain from age-related wear and sports injuries involving the hip, knee, ankle, and elbow. Rickets, trauma, and sports-related injuries also are treated. Spine Center In partnership with neurology and neurosurgery experts at the Scott & White Neuroscience Institute, complete diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation services for spine fractures, neck pain, back pain, scoliosis and spinal deformity, spinal cord injuries, sciatica, and multiple sclerosis are offered.
