Military Homefront Services—More than
$2 million is helping many military members
get the mental healthcare services they need.
“The Military Homefront Services program
has been able to treat many soldiers, and we’ve
logged more than 17,000 patient visits,” says
Maxine Trent, LMFT, mental health program
manager in Killeen, licensed marriage and
family therapist, and clinical instructor in
the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Health, Texas A&M Health Science Center
College of Medicine. “Military members and
their families are so grateful.”
Glenda Tanner Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center—Named in memory
of an employee who worked for Scott & White for 45 years who died of
pancreatic cancer, the Glenda Tanner Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center
is an initiative fully funded by philanthropy. The $16 million state-ofthe-art cancer treatment facility is located on the Temple campus.
Cancer Research—More than $5 million has been
directed toward a comprehensive bench-to-bedside
cancer research program, including the $1.5 million
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) labs at the
Cancer Research Institute.
