Spring is a season for growth ; it ’ s a time to celebrate and continue moving forward . That ’ s never been more true at Scott & White than it is now . We ’ re welcoming Dr . Alfred B . Knight as the new president of the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation . He brings enthusiasm and executive experience to the ever more important role of philanthropy at Scott & White .
As we increase the level of healthcare excellence we deliver , we must raise the bar for philanthropy as a vital component in that delivery . Coupled with an academic mission to train the next generation of medical leaders and find new cures for disease , philanthropy is the link that can help protect the healthcare future of all Central Texans .
We are absolutely thrilled with the multimillion-dollar gift from an anonymous donor to help advance cancer research and care . That type of commitment means the world to us as we try to help each patient receive the very best healthcare .
Our work here became even more inspired by the incredible gift we received from 14-year-old Avery Ling ! She has recorded a special song that she wrote called “ Let Us Live ” for the new Children ’ s Hospital at Scott & White .
