Carmen Martín Gaite Volleyball tournament
Each year Carmen Martín Gaite has organized a series of sports tournaments involving students and teachers. This year, the volleyball tournament took place in the gym of the school. All the teams that participated had great potential to win.
The winners of this tournament were called the "Pasillo Team”. It had some of the best players of the tournament, of which, I am one. The tournament saw many exciting matches. On one occasion, both teams were evenly matched. In the final moments, they were drawing. Neither team lost concentration, and continued to battle to win at all costs. It was one of the highlights of the tournament.
In conclusion, sport makes you learn many times. The best part of each person shines and when playing as a team, you have to have a degree of concentration to coordinate with other members of your team. Thus making it fun and at the same time satisfactory.

International Relations and The ERASMUS+ program
As most of you probably know, the program Erasmus + “Cities on rivers” has been developing for the last two years and has recently finished. Six countries have taken part in this experience; Portugal, Spain, Romania, Italy, Turkey and Poland.
During the project this year, many activities have been going on. One of the first things we did was play the game “No offense, bro”, which included questions about the history, culture and geography of the different countries involved. We also had some lessons with the Geography and History and Biology teachers about our environment, and we went to the river Guadarrama, where we took samples of the water to analyse them in the lab. Furthermore, we completed some biodiversity cards with information about the fauna and flora we have in our river.
At the end of the first term some recycled objects were created by the students to make people be more concerned about the preservation of our ecosystems.
More activities not directly related to nature were also carried out, including the creation of a mascot called Brooklet, which contained messages about the connections between rivers and humanity. A common story with the different countries was written about it as well. Many other projects deserve to be mentioned, such as the creation of a song and a legend about the river which included a sketch about it and the design of the logo. And among other things, a visit of the teachers from the different countries to our school.
Trips with teachers and students to other countries where organized. Several transnational meetings took place along these two years in all the schools involved. These gave us the opportunity not only to visit other regions, but to learn about their heritage and meet fantastic people.
To conclude, I would like to mention the trip to Romania. I took part in it and I have to say it was an incredible experience for me and my classmates. Definitely this project has helped us to not only acquire knowledge about the environment that surrounds us, but also to get to know other cultures and learn about diversity and respect. We could say all of us are connected in one way or another; actually, there is a theory about it, maybe a topic for another article?

TORNEOS DE FÚTBOL
Los estudiantes del IES Carmen Martín Gaite han organizado durante los recreos unos torneos de fútbol de forma independiente. En total salieron 11 equipos y los partidos se organizaron por fases. Durante la primera fase de grupos, se clasificaron unos cuantos equipos que pasaron a la siguiente fase, la eliminatoria. En esta actividad no solamente han estado involucrados los jugadores y los árbitros, sino que también se ha contado con la presencia de un gran número de alumnos y de algunos profesores. Destacar que, salvo por unos pequeños desacuerdos, en general esta actividad ha transcurrido sin ningún incidente importante, todo ello gracias al esfuerzo del equipo de 1ºBCB que ha llevado a cabo este torneo.
Por último, felicitar al equipo ganador por llegar a la final y conseguir la victoria.
