Carer Gateway at Melbourne Zoo
Carer Gateway had more fun than a barrel of monkeys at the Carers Victoria Family Day at the Melbourne Zoo in March , where we were a major sponsor .

It was wonderful to get the word out about Carer Gateway supports to carers and their families , particularly Young Carers who had not thought of themselves as carers before .
Melbourne Queer Film Festival
To show our support and connect with LGBTIQA + carers and allies , we proudly sponsored The Melbourne Queer Film Festival ( MQFF ) in November .
Lesbian , Gay , Bisexual , Transgender , Intersex , Queer and Asexual carers face the same stresses and pressures at work as any other carer , however they are also more likely to face discrimination as well .
It was wonderful to chat and share the experiences of Queer carers ahead of a special screening of ‘ All The Silence ’, along with information about Carer Gateway ’ s LGBTIQA + services with thousands of patrons during MQFF .
All The Silence is an incredibly beautiful film that highlights the under-represented members of the queer community who are hearing impaired , and uniquely explores the various nuances of different types of communication abilities .
