Carer Gateway on the road
In July and August , carers took centre stage at special events across regional Victoria !
Across Morwell , Bendigo and Ballarat , our Carer Gateway team spoke with local carers and shared what supports are available in their region . Joined by local health partners Bendigo Health , Uniting , and Grampians Health , more than 200 carers and staff from local community support agencies enjoyed morning tea , a light lunch , massages , raffles and giveaways , and a chance to meet other carers .
The event was especially celebratory in Ballarat , where we joined Grampians Health in commemorating their 26 years of providing carer support to the community – an amazing achievement . Carer Gateway State Manager Heleni Bagiartakis spoke at the event , saying :
“ The growing success of Carer Gateway in Victoria is in part due to the efforts or partners such as Grampians Health , and the amazing work they do . For that , I would like to say a huge thank you to Raj Taneja and his team . Their tireless dedication to assisting carers is truly commendable , and I am proud they represent Carer Gateway .”
With National Carers Week coming up from Sunday 15 to Saturday 21 October 2023 and lots of other special events planned , we look forward to meeting you soon !
