Duck For a time it seemed as if we would never see 50 degree and above weather again, but it is here. Finally, it’s getting warmer – the sun is out. The grass is growing. The flowers are blooming. And most importantly, Lake Mendota is melting. And a lake that is water instead of ice is good for everyone. Especially the ducks. Finally they can go for swims and mate. This means Duck Dates. The brand new duck couples can swim around and prepare for the families that they are building together. The only problem that they run into to is all the debris and litter that has ended up in the lake. The clutter is disruptive to the ducks and will be unsafe for their new born ducklings. The best way to keep them safe and healthy is for the students and community members of UW- Madison to throw away or recycle their garbage. That way ducks can happily go on their duck dates and have happy duck families.
