AICPA Sues IRS Over Voluntary Tax Preparer Program: The MSCPA submitted a
letter in support and thanks to AICPA President and CEO Barry Melancon, for the
Institute’s lawsuit against the IRS regarding the IRS’s voluntary “annual filing season
program.” The MSCPA commended Melancon and the AICPA for their commitment
to the profession and upholding the integrity of the court and legislative processes,
something the IRS dismissed in its attempt to implement the program.
